In keeping with the objects of the Dullah Omar Institute (DOI) to promote respect for democracy, constitutionalism and the rule of law in Africa, the 2020 general elections in Tanzania presented a unique opportunity to observe whether these principles were practically implemented in the election processes.
The Dullah Omar Institute (DOI) at the University of the Western Cape (UWC), South Africa, has closely followed the developments in Nigeria over the last two weeks, with a particular interest on the human rights situation in the country.
Dr Michelle R. Maziwisa, a postdoctoral research fellow at the Dullah Omar Institute, University of the Western Cape, under the South African Research Chairs Initiative (SARChI) in Multilevel Government, Law and Development, has been named the recipient of the 2020 Ronald Watts Young Researcher Award.
