The Launching of Online Course on the Communications Procedures of the ACERWC and Child Rights Jurisprudence in Africa

The African Committee of the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC/the Committee) and the Dullah Omar Institute for Constitutional Law, Governance and Human Rights at the University of Western Cape in South Africa are launching an online course on the Communications Procedures of the ACERWC.

Among other things, the course intends to raise awareness on the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child and provide a comprehensive understanding of the Communications mandate of the Committee and its child rights jurisprudence. The course is designed for a wide range of participants from Governmental, Non-Governmental and academic institutions that work on child rights advocacy and litigation. It is a self-paced course that participants are expected to complete within a period of one month.

The course will be conducted annually; over 600 participants are expected to take the course in the first rollout, which will take place from 01 to 28 Feb 2021.

The Course will be officially launched through a webinar, which is scheduled to take place on 1 Feb 2021
