That the Zondo Commission did not make recommendations for systemic reform of the National Prosecuting Authority is unfortunate and is a lost opportunity. The NPA is in need of reform and this centres on two issues: institutional independence and accountability.

This is a call for applications for the 14th edition of the “Winter School on Federalism and Governance”. The upcoming edition will be focusing on “Federalism and Equality” and will be held in Innsbruck and Bolzano/Bozen.
Yesterday, 62 organisations and networks registered their strong objection to the public participation process being undertaken for the six appointments that are to be made to the Commission on Gender Equality. Their letter put forward measures to assist the Portfolio Committee on Women, Youth and Persons with Disabilities to address the serious shortcomings in the proposed public consultation.
The Socio-Economic Rights Project, Dullah Omar Institute, University of the Western Cape organised its first writing retreat on 1 and 2 September 2022 at the Blaauwberg Beach Hotel.
