Prof Nico Steylter chats to Ethiopian media
When there is formation of a federation, there will usually be a dispute on where the capital should be, these are the words from Professor Nico Steytler the Research Chair in Multilevel Government, Law and Policy at the Community Law Centre.
He said this when attending the seminar on the theme of ‘Governing the Cities’, and organised by Addis Ababa University Centre for Federal Studies and University of Western Cape Community Law Centre. The issue of Addis Ababa-Oromia integrated master plan, which captured headlines recently, also took a centre stage at the seminar.
Solomon Goshu of The Reporter sat down with Professor Steytler to discuss the issue of governing Addis Ababa in comparative perspective.
