POST-DOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP OPPORTUNITY FOR 2019

The Dullah Omar Institute for Constitutional Law, Governance and Human Rights at the Faculty of Law, University of Western Cape is pleased to announce a one-year fulltime post-doctoral fellowship for 2019. The post-doctoral fellow will be based at the Children’s Rights Project. The fellow will be tasked with conducting research in areas related to children’s rights, especially with a focus on issues pertaining to the African Union. The fellow will also be expected to produce at least three publications.

The fellowship will be awarded for one year.

A successful applicant will be provided with a monthly stipend in accordance with relevant rules and regulations, a computer, and working space.

Requirements:

Applicants should have obtained a doctoral degree in human rights with a focus on the areas of children’s rights / the African human rights system in the last 3 years.

Applicants should also have a good publication record.

Moreover, knowledge of the work of, and past interaction with, the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child of the African Union is considered a strong advantage.
