LLM lecture looks into the implementation of the Code of Conduct for Councillors

Mr Mario Baatjies, Deputy Director of the Western Cape Department of Local Government delivered a guest lecture to the LLM/Mphil students in Multilevel Government.

 

The lecture dealt with the implementation of the Code of Conduct for Councillors. Mr Baatjies shared his experience with ensuring procedural and substantive fairness when councillors are charged with contravening the Code of Conduct for Councillors. 
 
The anecdotes, stories and case studies he shared provided practical insight in how to oversee ethical behaviour of elected representatives.
