DRDLR Visits: Commission on Restitution of Land Claims

The meeting with the Land Claims Commission (LCC) created a platform for the Land Inquiry to learn key lessons that could be applied to the Ugandan Land Fund.

The officials from the LCC included, Mr Lebjane Maphutha the Regional Land Claims Commissioner; Mr Wandisile Kahlane the Manager of Policy and Mr Themba Ntombela the Litigation Manager from the Chief Land Claims Commission.

The nature in which the LCC deals with litigation was discussed. Moreover, the synchronisation of land disputes under the mandate of the LCC proved useful in informing the delegates what alternative options are available for dispute resolution amongst civil and state parties.
