Community Leaders Training Workshop focusing on ‘Human Rights and Post-Covid-19 Situations in Informal Settlements’
On 31 May 2023, the Socio-Economic Rights Project at the Dullah Omar Institute hosted a Community Leaders Training Workshop on ‘Human Rights and Post-Covid-19 Situations in Informal Settlements.’
Presentations were made on the impact of Covid-19 on poverty among women, the realisation of the rights of children in disadvantaged communities, and access to housing. The Community Leaders shared their experiences on how lives have been impacted on the ground, and the specific challenges their communities are facing now. They also discussed coping mechanisms, and shared resources with each other, on how to continue to build support and uplift their communities.
