A study conducted by the School for Public Leadership at Stellenbosch University in partnership with the Hanns Seidel Foundation established that the administrative burden facing municipalities is excessive, and increasing. While there might be cogent rationales for each individual administrative requirement, cumulatively they had a prohibitive impact on municipalities, diverting scarce resources from core service delivery mandates.

Join us at a webinar to discuss how the administrative burden facing municipalities can be streamlined with Prof Geo Quinot from the University of Stellenbosch’s Faculty of Law. Curtly Stevens from DOI will act as a respondent in a discussion moderated by Dr. Shehaam Johnstone from DOI. An article containing key recommendations for reducing the administrative burden on the municipalities has been published in the Local Government Bulletin of the DOI and can be accessed here.
