Climate change could well be an extinction event for humankind and life on earth, unless we can create a new and more balanced relationship between our natural and social worlds.
But what would this new constitutional order look like? What does constitutional law currently have to say about the problem of climate change? How should constitutional law address this peril?
We speak to two leading international scholars working on the problem of constitutionalism and climate change about these and other questions.
Our discussion will explore how climate change litigation in Brazil and elsewhere can influence the development of constitutionalism, and what the next generation of constitution-makers can and should do in practice to combat climate change and to create a new normative relationship between nature, constitution law, and society.

Joana Setzer
