The COVID-19 pandemic adversely impacted the world-over and governments, including those in Africa, responded by imposing various degrees of restrictions to curb the spread of the virus and save lives.
Africa Criminal Justice Reform (ACJR) has produced a compendium of reports on the COVID-19 measures taken in five African countries, namely; Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, South Africa, and Zambia.
The compendium provides an overview of:
- the legal frameworks of each country as applicable during COVID-19 restrictions,
- the civil and political rights implications of imposed restrictions,
- the role played by oversight institutions, and
- legal challenges to planned and imposed restrictions.
Please join ACJR for a 90-minute webinar to release the main findings.
